Minstead Stinger Club Champs and Club Social

The Minstead Stinger 10 Mile race is a club championship event on 3rd November. It will also be a club social, so there will be a coach to and from the race to LDC and we will also get a drink and cake at the finish and stop off for refreshments on the way back.

A quick scan of the entrant list shows there are 60 Harriers already entered!! The race is expected to sell out so don’t miss out on securing your place – enter now via the link HERE

Details of the coach and the social to follow nearer the time – for now just bagsy your race entry!

Please note – the club champs distance is 10 miles but there is also a 5 mile race for those who prefer

Split blue run this Tuesday 7th May

As this coming Tuesday is the first of the month, there will be a split blue session with 2 groups – the usual paced group and also a relaxed pace group doing the same route. Coaches Mark and Chris will lead the way and the route will be the lovely Throop Loop. Enjoy!

Get your curry on

Don’t forget that Friday 17th May is our post-marathons curry night at Abdul’s – all are welcome, you don’t have to have done a marathon to come along! It is BYOB so should be a cheap-ish and fun night. Speak to Mike K or Mike N or search ‘curry’ in the Facebook group to find the event and click to say you are attending!

Subs are (over) due

Just a reminder that subs were due for payment in April. If you have not yet paid your annual subs, please do so as soon as possible. All members were sent an email with a link to pay, or you can pay on a club night by finding Gary in the bar. If you have any questions about your subs, please CONTACT US

Forest runs are back!

The much-loved Friday night forest runs are now back! Yay! They will take place every other Friday throughout the summer. For more information, see the usual training schedule on the club website – HERE

The next one will be Friday 17th May (same as the curry night)

LD marathon

As you all know, the LD marathon is back this year and takes place on Sunday 30th June. It’ll be a great event with an awesome new medal this year! Entries are now open, and Harriers are welcome (and encouraged!) to take part. More information can be found on the website HERE

Please share the link far and wide and help us make this an unforgettable day!

Ferndown 10K needs your help!

The Ferndown 10K, being held on Saturday June 22nd, are in need of extra marshal support. If you think you can help you can contact them via www.ferndown10k.org or by calling the race director, Harry, on either 01202 895923 or 07597 662679

Once the run has finished, volunteers can enjoy the live entertainment and static shows of Ferndown Fete on the Field, which is held at the same venue as the start and finish of the run.

It’s a knockout!

On Saturday 25th May, the Lions Club of New Milton is staging its Family Fun Day, which will include an ‘It’s a Knockout’ Team Competition, full of fun, thrills, spills, laughs, inflatables, splashes and foam and much more.  Some might recall such games from the highly popular Television series back in the 60s – 80s.

Teams of 8 to 10 people can enter and The Lions Club is seeking a few more teams to really make this a great event, which is the first of its kind in New Milton for several decades. You can register your interest online at http://www.newmilton.net/knockout.html or call them on 07771 754025.

There is also going to be a 6K run, more info can be found via https://wsphandac.fullonsport.com/event/phil-and-bonnie-bounder-6k-forest-run/profile

A big marathon ‘well done!!’

As the spring marathon calendar is drawing to a close, all that remains is to say a huge ‘well done’ to all our Harriers who went out and conquered marathons over the last month or so. There have been some truly impressive times and displays of effort and determination – not least from those doing the live tracking!
