About Our Club
Littledown Harriers is a social running club, established in 1990 at the then newly-opened Littledown Sports Centre off Castle Lane in Bournemouth. The club started with a small group of enthusiastic runners and now has over 220 members (as of August 2024) making it one of the biggest in the area.
We have a mix of competitive runners and runners who join us to get fit and keep fit. We are proud of our reputation as an inclusive local club. We have among us marathon runners, fun runners and first timers – in fact runners of all ages and abilities*.
In 2018 we built a new website and refreshed our branding. Here is our old logo that united our club in 28 years of races.
We have an annual Club Championship and also compete in the Dorset Road Race League. We love social get togethers too and, as well as our awards night, Christmas party, AGM and post-marathon curry night (you don’t have to run a marathon to attend!) we also regularly arrange unofficial nights out and post-race drinks!
* The minimum age to become a member or to run with the Harriers at any club session – including our Couch 2 5k Groups or Sunday runs – is 16 years old.
