February News Round Up

More dissertation requests!

We certainly are popular! We have had two more dissertation requests, please get in touch with the students directly if you think you can help.

Kirsty – looking to speak to anyone running the London Marathon. Contact her via kirsty.yull94@gmail.com

Denis – conducting dissertation research about runners and their relationship with their branded running shoes. Open to all runners. Email him if you can help via dennito@hotmail.co.uk

And a big thank you from Matthew to everyone who helped him with his research into runners’ motivations for entering 10k races. He will share his findings with us once his dissertation is complete.

Littledown Marathon- go, go, go!

The Littledown Marathon, which will take place on Sunday 30th June, is now open for entries. More information and the link to enter can be found on our website: https://www.littledownharriers.co.uk/ld-marathon/

Please share far and wide! There’s a limit of 100 places. And also please save the date in your diary to come down and support!

Split blue session this Tuesday

This coming Tuesday, 5th March, will see the next split blue session with two different paced groups. There will be the usual blue group and a second group running at a more relaxed pace. The route will head out to Hengistbury and will be just under 8 miles. Speak to Dily or Suzanne, who will be coaching the routes, if you would like more info.

Other local races

Organisers of some other local races, which aren’t Club Championships, have asked if we can share details of their races with everyone in case anyone might be interested in entering. Check out the following races:

Ferndown 10k – Saturday 22nd June –  www.ferndown10k.org

Kingfisher Capers – Saturday 20th July – https://www.princessraces.run/e/kingfisher-capers-469

Upcoming Social Events

There are two LDH social events coming up in the next couple of months.

Firstly (if you were quick enough to bag a ticket as they are now all sold out!) there is the Wine Tasting evening on Friday 15th March.

Then there will be the pre-marathons pasta evening at Prezzo in Christchurch on Saturday 30th March at 7:30pm. Keep an eye on Facebook and emails for more information on this one or speak to Mike K. Everyone is welcome, you don’t have to be doing a marathon to come along!
