September 21 2008
Littledown Harriers were 1st Female (Chapman,
Goldsmith, Masley, Cooke) and 1st Male (Miller, Elliott, Brown, Jay)
Team in the half marathon and 2nd Female Team in the full marathon (Khoshnevis,
Sandell, Edwards).
Best in Half: Janie Chapman (1:30:37), Gregory Pienaar (1:23:35)
Best in Full: Heather Khoshnevis (3:26:45), Peter Hellawell (3:34:56)
The Beast, August 31 2008
26 Harriers went climbing
with Janie Chapman (1.44.17) and Gregory Pienaar (1.30.09) as first
Harriers. Tough race in fantastic scenery!
Sturminster Newton ½
Marathon, August 3 2008
We had
26 runners out there today (18 men and 8 ladies). The weather was almost
ideal and everyone finished looking happy (or was it just relief!)
The
ladies team came 1st - Janie Chapman, Heather Khoshnevis,
Jacqueline Goldsmith and the men’s team came 3rd - Greg
Pienaar, Pete Spieler, Graeme Miller.
Wayfarers' Relay, July 26
Harriers finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
and 5th in the mixed team competition! Only 5 mixed teams in
total, but who cares; winner’s rostrum full of Harriers! BBQ and Camping
made it a perfect Saturday afternoon/evening.
Portland 10, July 6
The men (14 runners in
total) had a stormer of a race, with Pete Spieler (1:03:25) finishing 2nd
in his age group and the men's team taking 3rd overall. Janet
Hooper was the only woman running managing 9th fort he ladies “team”.
Poole 10K, June 1
10 women and 20 men enjoyed
the “Festival of Running” with Karen aus der Fuenten (39.37) and Gregory
Pienaar (35.21) as fastest Harriers.
