Results Update

……..A brief summary of Barry Light’s 2010 Marathons……..

Report: Barry was hoping to complete a Baker's Dozen of marathons last year; however, after bailing out of the Salisbury 5,4,3,2,1 due to an injury, he had to settle for the Dirty Dozen. He tells me his favourite of all the marathons completed in 2010 was Snowdonia and it's on his agenda for this year as well.

Report: Well done all that ran this weekend, for the 20 miler things are looking great for your forthcoming marathons!   I believe there were a few issues with the chip times with a power cut, but from the provisional results I can see 23 of the Harrier men completed the 20 miles, with Mark Packer leading the way finishing in 11th place overall, in a time of 2 hrs 11 mins and bagging himself a big 50 championship points in the process.  Also I must mention we had a podium finisher in our ranks – no less than Mr Chairman himself Steve Shuck the 3rd placed male +50, in just under 2hr 22 mins!  Pick of the rest – Giles had a great run and making fine progress finishing in just under 2 hrs 30.

In the 10 mile race were another 4 male Harriers – if there was a team prize we would have stormed it, but alas no cigar!  A special mention to Stuart Stone, who finished in 65 mins 33 seconds, a new PB, 6th place overall and the 2nd  placed male 40+,  the fastest runner/walker in the business.

Also, well done to the dozen Harriers ladies in the 20 miler, and the trio in the 10 mile race.

Report: Two great races on Sunday in Burton with the 10 and 20 miles, Thanks Zoom Tri for the sweeties and T shirts and to the many supporters out there. . Caroline M proved her strength in distance racing with a 2:33 finish, Julie W also running strong in 2:40, Heather not far after in 2.46.

Lucy and Carmel practically holding hands over the finish line in a fabulous 2:47 (after their little bumping into each other!) Tammy And Sam close behind in 2:52, Suzie E, 3:05, Sally N, 3:16 Fiona , 3:18 Nicky D, 3:23

…and for the 10 Miler, Michelle C 1:19, Sarah H 1:22 and Sarah N 1:32

I also noticed the men are all running so strong, and I think Ben and Stuart  must have been holding hands too when they finished the 10 mile race , how sweet , so much love in the club! Ha Ha, well done to all.

Report: The general feedback was that everyone had a great time, although it hurts a lot, the toughest yet, lots of bogs to get your legs lost in!!  The weather however was perfect, well marshalled, great crowds and music especially at the pubs. And as Sam put it "the rest is all a blur to me, did I do it or just dream it!"

Tracey did a cracking   3-59, followed by Pauline Woods, Julie White, Sam Pain, Lisa Jordan and Suzie Elliot
