Member’s Enclosure
Another month has
raced by, the runs coming thick and fast, or should that be windy
and hilly with record LDH entries at almost every local event.
Marathon News
April sees the
culmination of many months training with numerous marathons taking
place. The 30th London, the inaugural seaside shuffle in
Brighton and the contrasting Stratford -upon-Avon, the historic
market town synonymous with William Shakespeare. Have a great day
everybody wherever you’re running.
Walkies
There are plans to
organise a few LDH Dorset country walks this summer, speak to Ian
Noble if you’d be interested. The walk(s) will be about 10miles
finishing in a local pub. Runners, friends and families all welcome.
Ian
Bikers
Amongst other things I
will also be organising some bike rides one Sunday every month
starting in May. They won’t just be for the carbon fibre elite but
anyone with wheels and a saddle, with varying distances.
Campers
July 24th
Possibly the most important social event of the year…the Wayfarers
Relays. This annual Saturday afternoon relay is followed by a BBQ,
disco and overnight camping. Great for runners, family, friends and
children. Cancel any holiday plans and put it in your
diary.
Tracey J
Sunday Runners
Sunday runs will
continue throughout the summer months, these are for all runners,
not just those training for a marathon so watch the club emails or
speak to others on a club night for details of that weeks planned
run. They normally start from the LDC at 8:30am, although not
official club runs they are an ideal time to get out, often
off-road, with shorter distances ideal for all abilities, including
anyone new to running.
